Because cold fingers suck...
A lined, winter version of the NEOTAC Duty Gloves designed
specifically for cold, wet winter weather. Palms made of synthetic
leather that provide excellent grip and accurate feel. Non-slip patches
are sewn onto the palms and fingertips, except the index finger, to
facilitate the best possible trigger control. Dual inner linings of
Thinsulate® Insulation and breathable, waterproof Hipora® work together
to keep hands warm and dry. The fluid-proof properties of the Hipora®
liners also protect the wearer against contact with deadly blood borne
pathogens. Hook and loop closures provide a snug fit.
HIPORA, manufactured by
iKolon Industries, is a breathable fabric that consists of a
three-layer microporous coating structure. The first layer incorporates
pores less than 0.5§ in diameter, preventing water penetration and
peeling of the coating. The second layer consists of a honeycomb-like
structure. This porous layer achieves moisture permeability and
resistance to water penetration. The third layer has a very thin, dense
structure that increases water resistance.
Some manufacturers make the claim that the Hipora membrane is an
adequate barrier to protect hands from micro-organisms such as TB,
Hepatitis, Staph and HIV meets O.S.H.A. Bloodborne Pathogens Standards
(29CFR 1910.1030). These gloves, although they have a Hipora
lining, have not been OFFICIALLY rated for BBP protection. Good barrier
such as nitrile gloves,
should always be used when dealing with possible contaminants from blood
or any other body substance.
