HALO Vent Seals
Vented and Non-Vented HALO Chest Seal, Two Pack

Above:
Large marked pull tabs facilitate easy access and quick application of the seals.

You wanted to "vent"? Well then "vent"...

The HALO Vent was specifically developed as a high performance occlusive dressing designed to treat penetrating chest wound casualties with excessive bleeding, heavy perspiration, or patient's with chest injuries in very wet and extreme environments in the attempt to prevent the development of tension pneumothorax resulting from gunshots, stab wounds, projectile, explosive, or other chest injuries.

The HALO Vent includes TWO (2) SEALS: one vented seal to allow for escape of trapped gasses in a pneumothorax and one non-vented seal. This  allows the medical operator to cover both entry and exit wounds on the thorax and also prevents further contamination of the injury site(s).

The HALO Vent features a patented hydro-gel with a highly aggressive tack adhesive that enables the dressing to conform and adhere to all contours of a patient’s body even when moisture, pleural fluids or blood is present and have proven to perform without loss of adhesion in extreme temperatures up to 140° (65°C).

Unique and durable packaging and material maintains the product’s integrity when folded or crumpled and the four notched corners of the package provide ready access to the seals, but if opened from the top, the package can be resealed if both seals are not used in treatment.

Used by many military, EMS and law enforcement services domestically and internationally, the HALO Vent is manufactured in the US, and exclusive to Bound Tree Medical.

TCCC Guideline - Management of Open or Sucking Chest Wounds
This guideline supports the total occlusive property of the Halo Seal product.

"Tactical Field Care and CASEVAC Care - Breathing: All open and/or sucking chest wounds should be treated by immediately applying an occlusive material to cover the defect and securing it in place. Monitor the casualty for the potential development of a subsequent tension pneumothorax."
